Health Card
Filed Under HIPAA (General) | Leave a Comment
Its an advantage for everybody to have a health card.Because in case of emergency you can run to the hospital even if you dont have a cash on hand at that time. But it depends what the health card can offer,In my case our company provided us a health card a MAXICARE.With this health card you will just present it when your going to have a check up,or tooth retraction or cleaning, warts removal,if your on going chemo therepy, accidents, annual physcical examination, etc. One thing is that you have to check first all the accredited hospitals and clinic near your place so trhat its easy for you to go in case of emergency. Our health card is diducted to our monthly salary. At first,my co employee reacted on this because the price of the card is so expensive, but the benifits of the health card is very useful because no one knows when your going to use it most specially in case of emergency. No worries,no husstle, just present your health card everytime you’re going to have a check up or something to be midicated.

Health insurance

Governmental health insurance should be everyone’s choice. I believe that those who want health insurance should have the right to receive it from the government. Although i think that they should receive it, they are entitled to pay a premium every single month for this service. Now, with this health insurance benefit they should only be accepted for a free service in a public institution. Otherwise if used in a private one, the people with the governmental health insurance benefit would have to dish out the amount demanded in a private practice. Where as a private insurance holder would have to pay the demanded sum according to their plan with their private insurer. This is mainly my out take on this issue, since i strongly believe everyone is entitled to a good health. Although at the end of the day it is a service and a certain price has to be paid.

Well, anyway when I did have insurance when I was single the cost was so high that I had to drop it cause that every few months they want to raise the the price and and then when you go to the hospital and then a couple of weeks later you would get a bill that is out rageous and that they would tell you that the insurance did not cover it and that now you will have to pay the bill.

Nowadays medical tourism is getting very popular. People with elective surgeries are travelling to India, china for getting treatment. They get very good treatment for half the cost.In addition to it they get few days of sight seeing also.I think President obama shold hurry up and bring a good healthcare plan for all Americans. quickly, so that Americans get treatment here in U.S.A itself.

I meant would it be a better way to follow the European political style, giving its citizens free insurance, instead they bought the insurance on their own. Since there are a large number of citizens either can’t afford a health insurance, or they rather save that money, because they see that health insurance won’t be necessary in the moment.
In Europe, government intends to impose heavy tax duty on every individuals. They almost need to submit 30% or more taxes to the government agencies. Partial of these money must used for health insurance for its citizens. Some said that if you need ambulance in Europe, it is free of charge. If you need get medication from the hospital. It is free also. Except some surgery, you must pay at least 20% to fully cover.
In states, you either purchase a health insurance yourself, that is the most expensive way. Or you can get one from your employer if he/she carries some health insurance programs. It is the cheapest way to do so. Now the question is should we or should we not follow the European style?

Finding the right kind of health insurance is a difficult and daunting task to do. But it can be done and it must be done. Everyone needs health insurance. wheather your self-employed or you work for someone, if you work for a company I would check there first to see what kind of benefits you may be able to get. Also alot of times the place where you get your homeowners insurance can offer health insurance as well. Request information and get information from more than one place, ask questions research everything before making a decision.

In a speech from our president Barrack Obama, he once again emphasized that importance of health insurance for all of our American citizens. We need it to well - protect our health. We need it to regularly check up our bodies. From the studies of recent statistics revealed that, less and less Americans have health insurance. It is relevant to the economic atmosphere, and other factors. There is might be a need for government to provide health benefits for all of us.

Hippa

My boyfriend was having trouble with his insurance and so I thought I would get to the bottom of it. When I called his insurance company, they instructed me to call his old insurance company to get a certificate of prior coverage. When I called I talked to a man and I told him what was going on. I asked him to send out a certificate of prior coverage and he said he could do it, but really according to HIPPA he could not since he was not talking to my boyfriend himself.
Since my boyfriend was right there he could talk to the guy. SO it worked out ok. I am glad that they do have rules like that because who is to say that anyone could call up requesting info to be sent out. True I did have all of his info, such as date of birth, address and social security number, but anyone could get those if they tried hard enough. SO it was reassuring to know that HIPPA is doing its job. Thank you HIPPA.

Creditable coverage under HIPAA
Filed Under HIPAA (General) | Leave a Comment
Majority of health coverages are creditable coverage like coverage under a group health plan, individual health insurance policy… The creditable coverage does not include coverage consisting solely of excepted benefits like coverage solely for limited scope dental.
Days in a waiting period (no coverage) are not creditable coverage under the plan, nor are these days taken into account when determining a significant break in coverage (normally a minimum of 63 days). This 63 day break period may be extended under state law if your coverage is insured through an insurance company or offered through an HMO.
With the standard method, a person receives credit for his previous coverage that occurred without a break in coverage of minimum of 63 days. Any coverage occurring prior to a break in coverage of 63 days or more is not credited against a preexisting condition exclusion period.
Fo example, a person had coverage for 2 years followed by a break in coverage of 70 days and then resumed coverage for 8 months. This person would only receive credit for 8 months of coverage; no credit would be given for the 2 years of coverage prior to the break in coverage of 70 days.

Form to read carefully
Filed Under HIPAA (General) | 1 Comment
It s true that HIPAA serves to protect our data but it s hard to read and understand all those little paragraph at least if you dont work or study medicine and when you ask the nurse about more details they seem to get bored to this question.
Like everything, read carefully and dont hesitate to ask more precision even if the nurse seems to be bored. The bad point is that if you dont sign it you will not be attended by a doctor but what it s most important fill up the paper or try to heal the person and after sign the paper ?
