The IRS is attempting to make some changes to the tax codes but one in particular sounds more like a nightmare waiting to happen.
This change would give the people who does your taxes permission to sell your private information. They can only do it with your consent, but the chance for fraud is still there.
While you might be a careful person who dots their I’s and crosses your T’s, the fact remains that not everyone is that careful and add in tax preps who are less than honest or down right incompetent and you have trouble.
All they would need to do is tell you to sign here, here and there and next thing you know, your information is in the hand of whoever is willing to pay for it.
